Energy efficiency for our homes and businesses

The Lower Columbia Alliance for Living Sustainably (www.discoverLOCALS.org) will hold their next general meeting on Tuesday, March 9, from 4 to 5:30 PM.  Members and the public are welcome. 

The topic this month is energy efficiency for our homes and businesses.  Rick Cantonwine from Clark Public Utilities will discuss the big energy picture, the principles of energy use and how and why energy audits can assist us in getting the biggest bang for our buck by prioritizing energy saving measures. 

Patrick Sughrue from Structures NW, LLC will follow up with an outline of proposed federal programs for energy efficiency, carbon emission reduction and green jobs, including details about the HOME STAR program and the status of H.R. 1778: the Retrofit for Energy and Environmental Performance (REEP) Program Act.
